
Bodo is a Board-Certified Family Physician based in Omaha. He graduated from Creighton University and Nebraska Medical School. After residency he was a family doctor in rural Iowa for 10 years before moving back to Omaha. He has gone on 25 overseas mission trips to Central and South America, Siberia, and Africa all with Christian medical organizations. He has been involved with Healing Kadi Foundation since the start. His wife, daughter, and son have all joined him separately on mission trips to south Sudan.

Dr. Steier is a Family Physician with Methodist Physicians Clinic in Omaha, Nebraska, and a veteran of five mission trips to Kajo Keji, South Sudan with The Healing Kadi Foundation.

Dr. Debra Tomek is the Associate Medical Director for Children’s Center for the Child & Community. Dr. Tomek is a native of the Omaha, Nebraska community. She graduated from Omaha Northwest High School. She obtained her Engineering Degree from the University of Iowa, and received her M.D. degree in 1987 from University Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). She completed her pediatric residency at Geisinger Medical in Danville, Pennsylvania. She returned to UNMC in 1990 to complete a General Academic Pediatric Fellowship and join the General Pediatric Department as an attending physician until 1994. In 1995, Dr. Tomek began her career with Children’s Hospital & Medical Center, serving 17 and ½ years in the Emergency Department and Urgent Cares. She was the Medical Advisor for Building Healthy Futures from 2010-2018, a non-profit oversight for the development of 8 school based health centers; and Child Vision collaborative which advocated for the health of under-resourced students within schools. From September 2012 through February 2017, she lead the primary pediatric care as the Medical Director at Children’s Physicians. She recently transitioned from her role as Vice President, Children’s Physicians Medical Director to assist in expanding Children’s Collaborative Community Partnership efforts. Dr. Tomek is also an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and volunteer faculty member at Creighton University Department of Pediatrics.

Dr. Duku is from Kajo Keji, South Sudan and immigrated to the United States as a refugee at the age of 16. Pendo, graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. Pendo also holds Masters and Doctorate degrees in civil engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) which were awarded in 2003 and 2007, respectively. Pendo is passionate about volunteering and mentoring the youth to make a positive impact in the community. Pendo has been a volunteer civil engineer for The Healing Kadi Foundation since 2014.

Dr. Wade is an Emergency Medicine Physician in Lincoln, Nebraska, and is a member of Nebraska Emergency Medicine. He has twice traveled with the Healing Kadi Foundation on mission trips to the refugee camps in Uganda to help the people of South Sudan.

Alicia grew up in Omaha and completed her nursing education and UNMC. Alicia worked as a nurse in the cardiac unit at Methodist Hospital for 9 years and is now a Heart Transplant Coordinator at Nebraska Medicine. Alicia got involved with the HKF when her aunt told her about the mission and she ended up going in 2013. Since then, she has gone again in 2016 and hopes to go back soon. Alicia also goes on other medical mission trips in other areas of the world. Alicia has a huge passion for working with the HKF board to help improve the healthcare of the South Sudanese.

Jocelyn graduated nursing school in 2011 from Nebraska Methodist College. She works at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. She has worked on the cardiac unit for 12 years and has been certified in geriatric nursing. Her passion for mission work started in nursing school and she has been on several missions to the Dominican Republic and in 2016 went to South Sudan with the Healing Kadi Foundation.

Denise was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska to Delmar and Charlotte Lienemann, Sr. After she graduated from Southeast High School in Lincoln, Denise attended the University of Nebraska–Lincoln where she received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Teacher’s College in Administrative Office Management. She married Ross Scholz of Omaha, Nebraska where they make their home. They have three beautiful girls: Ginger (deceased), Charlotte, and Lindsey. Service to others is a motivating force in Denise’s life so it is an honor and a privilege for her to help The Healing Kadi Foundation make an impact in the lives of so many.
Mark graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Economics from The University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2006. Since that time he has worked in the banking industry in the Omaha area. He is currently a Vice President in Business Banking at Security National Bank. In his current role has worked with many non-profits to help them meet all their financial needs. Mark also serves on the Grief’s Journey board and helps other non-profits in the metro area.
