As 2022 comes to an end, I want to take a moment to say thank you for all your support, volunteer hours, and prayers which enabled HKF to have a successful year. Through your generous donations, we have completed the renovation of the Marilyn Miller Memorial Clinic facility in South Sudan and are now open six days a week to serve patients in the very remote area of the country. We have served thousands over the last 12 months and saved countless people from dying of simple diseases such as malaria, diarrhea, typhoid fever, and pneumonia. Your donations have gone a long way.
As we reflect on the incredible year behind us, Iām focused on the great work ahead of us. This coming year will be more challenging for us as we anticipate many South Sudanese refugees returning home from the refugee camps in Uganda. We anticipate that the volume of patients will triple, and the population will be sicker due to lack of food supply. We want to prepare for the influx of sick people, especially children and pregnant mothers who are very vulnerable.
A gift of $25 can provide a pregnant woman with lifesaving nausea medication and hydration water.
A gift of $100 will treat 10 children with acute watery diarrhea.
A gift of $250 will be enough Tylenol and Ibuprofen to treat 100 people.
No gift is too small or too big, and every dollar is needed to help us support these families.
There is still time to donate to receive a tax-deductible gift for 2022.
